Paul has 16 years of experience in investing and financing renewable energy and infrastructure projects. He worked as Senior Portfolio Manager Infrastructure in the global infrastructure team of Dutch asset manager PGGM Investments and was instrumental in the successful roll-out of the renewable energy and co-investment portfolio in Europe and North America. Paul was responsible for committing and investing over EUR 700 million. Prior to joining PGGM, Paul worked for Dutch utility Nuon as Manager Project Finance. He arranged and closed project financings for renewable energy projects in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Norway, Spain and India. Paul has served as an executive and a non-executive director on the board of companies in the USA, Guernsey and Spain. Paul is fluent in Dutch, English and German.

Manuel contributes more than 18 years international experience in infrastructure banking gained with WestLB in Germany, the UK and Spain. During that time he has closed more than 40 structured financings across sectors and jurisdictions. Until 2009 he has been particularly active in structuring, underwriting and syndicating renewable energy transactions in Spain in the wind, solar PV and solar thermal segments, each of these accounting for 1.200, 150 and 250 MW, respectively. Upon co-founding Voltiq, Manuel has been active in structuring debt and equity transactions in Europe and Latin America. Note that Manuel was the lead banker in the Andasol I & 2, Extresol I and Manchasol 1 & 2 CSP financings. Manuel is fluent in Spanish, English and German.

Joost has 16 years of experience in the development, acquisition and management of renewable energy projects and companies. He was Executive Board Member of The Clean Energy Company, the renewable energy branch of global retail and distribution company SHV. Prior to working for SHV, Joost worked for Dutch utility Nuon as Senior Development Manager of the Nuon International Renewables Projects team. From 2002 – 2005 he was responsible for Nuon’s investments in Spain based in Seville. Joost has served as an executive and non-executive director on the board of (renewable) energy companies in the United Kingdom, Germany and The Netherlands. Joost has in-depth knowledge of wind, solar and biomass. Joost is fluent in Dutch, English, Spanish and German.

José brings 12 years of international experience, of which 7 years in the solar sector with solar system integrator Solarig, where he raised more than EUR 250 M in debt and equity financings for more than 30 different solar projects in Italy, Spain, France and Malta. Prior to Solarig, José worked for 5 years at Spanish global banking firm BBVA in China, first in Hong Kong and then in Shanghai, in the areas of Trade Finance and Corporate Banking. He holds a Masters in International Economics from Maastricht University and a BA in Economics from Zaragoza University. José is fluent in Spanish, English and Italian.

Ubaldo Yañez is Director at Voltiq. He started his career in 2009 at EADS Group (Airbus) working as an Intern in the Facility Maintenance Team. In 2011, he joined Spanish leading oil & gas company CEPSA as Business Analyst at the Exploration & Production division, where he actively participated in corporate valuations, M&A, divestments and asset evaluations for nearly 4 years. Prior to working at CEPSA, Ubaldo graduated in Chemical Engineering at Santiago de Compostela University, complemented with a M.Sc. in Energy and Markets from IFP School in Paris (Institut Français du Pétrole) and an MBA from EOI Business School in Seville, Spain. Ubaldo is fluent in Spanish, English and French.

Baoqing Miao is Director at Voltiq’s Utrecht Office. Originally from China, he completed his bachelor in Mathematics from the National University of Singapore and Master in Economics and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics and Duke University in the US. Baoqing has extensive international experience in the energy and environment sector. In Asia, he worked as project manager at one of the leading renewable and environment consulting firms Hunan Xiangke where he managed a portfolio of more than 180 renewable power projects across China and Southeast Asia. He also has investment experience in hydro power and waste heat recovery projects from clinker lines in China. In Europe, he has worked for Europe’s largest renewable generator Statkraft and leading energy research institution SINTEF in Norway. Baoqing is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Raoul is Director at Voltiq. Raoul has 6 years of experience in Alternative Investments. He was Investment Analyst at Dynamic Credit Partners Europe and PGGM Investments during which he focused on Alternative Investments such as Infrastructure, Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Structured Credit. Prior to working at Dynamic and PGGM, Raoul worked for ABN AMRO Bank as an intern of the Trading & Principal Strategies Group, which was involved in multi strategy proprietary trading across the globe. Raoul is fluent in Dutch and English.

Sabine is Associate Director at Voltiq. Sabine has 17 years of experience of project and contract management in renewable energy projects. From 2003 – 2006 Sabine successfully managed and closed turnkey EPC and O&M contracts for more than 200 MW of wind power in Spain. From 2007, she worked as a Senior International Contract Manager for Ecostream International (Econcern Group), responsible for the contract management of solar PV plants in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium and Greece. Sabine is specialized in contract, claim and risk management regarding the development, construction,  operation and maintenance of renewable energy projects, notably wind, solar PV and CSP. Sabine is fluent in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Dutch.

Richard has 22 years of experience in project and general management in the energy sector. From 2008 – 2010, Richard was responsible for business development activities for The Clean Energy Company, the renewable energy branch of global retail and distribution company SHV, in Austria and Eastern Europe. Prior to working for SHV, he worked on a variety of development projects worldwide for large energy companies such as OMV (renewables, oil & gas), energy commodity producers, and several investment companies. Richard has Petroleum Engineering degrees from the Leoben Mining University, Austria, and the University of Oklahoma. Richard is fluent in German and English.

Mark Olie is Associate Legal Counsel at Voltiq, next to running his own legal practice. Mark is an experienced financial and energy derivatives lawyer and  founder of the Derivatives Law Academy (www.derivativeslawacademy.org). He has worked for and advised major financial institutions and energy companies on financial and energy derivatives agreements and ancillary documentation. Mark also has extensive corporate finance and M&A experience with a focus on transactions in Europe and Latin America and corporate bond issues. At Voltiq, for example, he has been instrumental in the sale and purchase of hundreds of MW’s of solar PV projects in Chile. Mark holds a Dutch law degree from Utrecht University and is also an alumnus of New York University School of Law from which he graduated with an LL.M. degree in U.S. corporate law. He is fluent in Dutch, English and Spanish.
